A Yellow-winged bat (Lavia frons) from Kenya. These bats frequently roost in bushes with yellowish orange berries. Otherwise, we can only guess at why this species' wings are so brightly colored. Yellow-winged bats form apparently monogamous pairs, and males appear to help scout out the best feeding areas for their mates. They feed like flycatcher birds-waiting for large insects to pass.
